Established in 1998 under an Act of the Sindh Government. Greenwich University is an autonomous university, and has been placed in the top category W (earlier designated A category) by the Higher Education Commission. Greenwich University is also legally competent to grant affiliation to other institutions, both within and outside Pakistan.

However, having established its reputation as a business school, Greenwich has now embarked on a process of expanding and diversifying its academic programs in certain selected disciplines of Arts and Social Sciences, such as Economics, English, International Relations and Media Studies. Such expansion has been necessitated by the needs of the community for more graduates in these important disciplines.

Much hard work, planning and thought have gone into the making of Greenwich Research & Development Centre (GRDC), a platform for academic and professional explorers to plunge gainfully into the realms of investigation and scrutiny in varied disciplines and fields of human pursuits. The objectives of GRDC are to promote and support research culture among faculty members and M.Phil. and Ph.D. students, boosting research through preparation and submission of papers for seminars, conferences and research journals.

Greenwich University under the faculty of Social Sciences and Management Sciences publish two research journals namely New Horizons and Journal of Business Strategies respectively.
Greenwich has started working on adding a MEDIA LAB to the Campus facilities for imparting hands-on training in modern media techniques to the students of the Department of Mass Communication and Media Studies.

Educational experience that takes the students beyond their classroom learning's. We consider education a life-long endeavor, and therefore, constantly develop our programs to provide our students with professional skills and knowledge to take their place as leaders in the world of business, commerce, or any other professions they may choose to pursue.
